Year End Concert

Jovan performed today at the Graduation Concert for the K2s.. As he’s not one of the main stars of the concert, he was only involved in one item and the finale.. The concert involved only the K1 and K2 pupils from 3 branches of the ccc so we saw many items by children from the other 2 centres too..

The event started later than planned mainly cos it’s a rainy day.. we had to send him to the venue at 12.30pm for the teachers to get them ready.. since it was raining rather heavily and we couldn’t find any parking… I dropped him off with his teachers before the 3 of us went to AMK Hub for lunch.. Gave him a hot dog bun in addition to the snacks the teachers had prepared…

It was only drizzling slightly when we returned to the venue and we were thankful that we managed to get a parking space..

We got in on the dot but there was some delay..

While waiting, we read the short synopsis of the items..

After some waiting, the concert finally commenced.. 3 valedictorians, 1 from each centre, took turns to give a speech to show their appreciation to their parents and teachers..

I got a little emotional when I heard them as they showed how ready they would be for the next chapter of their lives..  At 6 years old, these children could memorise their speeches really well!

It was interesting to watch the K2 graduands collecting their certificates too! They all look so cute, especially when they bowed with confidence and held their certs with pride! I’ve a feeling I’ll cry when it’s Jovan’s turn…

After the presentation of certs to the graduands, some children took turns to introduce the various items in the concert. I’m very impressed with many of them who could speak very well and confidently.

Finally, it’s Jovan’s turn to perform! We were discouraged from taking videos and photos as there’s a professional photographer as well as videographer but who cares, right? Hee.. here’s my boy! He’s a bear! Hee..

He remembered all his moves but he seemed to be a little slower than his friends but he’s adorable! Hee.. so proud of him!

I quite enjoyed the performances by the other children but I think I would enjoy it more if it was not a combined concert as each child had very little ‘air-time’.. so I was very glad to see my boy on stage for the finale.. Also, it’s actually a good thing that my boy is not very tall as he had to stand right in front to be seen! Hee.. yeah! More unblocked air-time for him!

Since we couldn’t take very close-up photos of him during the concert, we had to do so after the concert.. hee..

We also ordered some photos taken during his full dress rehearsal..

Jovan’s Fabulous 5th Birthday Part 3

As mentioned in an earlier post, Jovan wanted a soldier theme for his birthday… that got me busy as I had to get camouflage party favours for the celebration at the ccc on Youth Day..

We decided to get green mugs from the Lifestyle Mart at Safra as they would be useful for the kids.. I also ordered some party hats which I had to collect all the way from Woodlands.. While I was there, I bought some kaleidoscopes.. the camou paper plates were from Spotlight and the green plastic spoons and forks were from Giant.. we also bought some green gummys and chocolates wrapped in green wrappers to fit the camou theme.. We even bought camou Ts for ourselves! We couldn’t find one for Jocelle so we ended up buying an adult size t-shirt for her and let her wear it as a dress! Haha.. all for the fun of it! Anyway, here are the pictures!

The food!

Made some cupcakes on top of the 2nd fondant cake! The fondant cake definitely had room for improvement so I thought I would have some leftover but I was only left with the empty boxes! The kids also devoured all the cupcakes! I think the cupcakes turned out quite well and the kids loved the soldiers on the cupcakes! Some kept asking if they could really keep the soldiers.. haha.. so cute!

The people!

The kids were very impressed with Jovan’s soldier uniform while the teachers commented that the theme was awesome! We had an enjoyable time that day!

Oh yes, we even let the kids take photos with the birthday boy and keep the photos as mementoes!

Pre-birthday celebration @ ccc

Was slightly late for their tea break at the ccc.. when I reached,  the kids were already waiting at their tables for the cake..

All had their party hats on while my princess waited for her tiara which was with me.. Look at how happy they were!

Christmas Party @ ccc

The kids are having a Christmas party at their ccc..

We are to choose the food or drinks to bring for their Christmas buffet lunch.. For Jocelle, I chose to bring Vitasoy soya milk.. For Jovan, I chose to bring sandwiches cos I just bought a cheap little gadget from Daiso sometime ago..

It was fun making the sandwiches and I like it cos the sandwiches looked neat and the fillings were sealed within the bread.. I used a whole loaf of bread to make 8 tuna mayo and 8 egg mayo sandwiches.. 🙂
