It was the first time I was on a trip with the kids without their daddy.. We actually didn’t plan to go anywhere this March holiday as the man had P5 camp from Thursday to Saturday.. I thought of saving some money for our June and December trip..
My siblings, however, wanted to go to Korea! Audry had never been to Korea so after some discussion, they decided to make a trip to Jeju and Seoul.. “Since you’ll be alone with the kids, you might as well join us,” my siblings said.. Made sense to me.. Hee.. So yes, I decided to bring the kids along on this trip since I would have to think of ways to entertain them when the man was not around anyway..
We took a night flight on Korean Air.. With Emily and Elyssa.. My bro, Roger, as well as Audry and family left a night earlier since they wanted to spend more time in Jeju.. Emily and I have gone to Korea 2-3 times already and have visited the places of interest in Jeju so we were ok not to spend so much time there..
I like night flights.. We don’t have to waste precious daytime.. Hee.. The kids got themselves entertained with the in-flight entertainment system initially and I also tried to catch The Theory of Everything even though my eyes were tired..
The leg room was good.. I thought it was more spacious than some SQ flights I’ve taken.. The kids were also given a Pororo Doodle Book to entertain themselves.. The kids happily switched off the entertainment system to colour the book with wet brushes.. It’s actually a fuss free coloring book which can be ‘coloured’ without mess.. Such a clever idea!
Food was served once we were up in the sky.. We regretted having dinner earlier as we all couldn’t finish our dinner.. Actually, the kids barely touched their dinner, or should I say supper?
Soon, they drifted off to dreamland while I stopped watching the show too to catch some sleep..
We reached Incheon International Airport at about 6 plus in the morning and took a train to Gimpo Airport to catch another plane to Jeju to meet up with the rest..
While waiting for our plane at Gimpo, we had some breakfast..
The flight to Jeju was about an hour, pretty fast.. I made Jovan do a set of his Kumon homework during the short flight.. 😁
After we met up with the rest at the hotel they stayed in the previous night, we went out for lunch.. They were looking for abalone porridge..
We shopped around, no, Emily shopped around.. She actually bought at least 6 caps, I think.. At least 2 each for herself, her hubby as well as her girl.. There was a 50% discount so I guess it was a good deal for her.. After that, we stopped by an eatery to satisfy their cravings.. I was just glad they had bibimbap! 😋
After lunch, we went back to the hotel to get our luggage.. We were moving to another apartment which could fit all of us.. We searched for a few on Airbnb and since all of us were very lazy to do our research, we ended up choosing a ‘ghost house’ without knowing.. Haha.. The worst thing was, our apartment was on the 3rd floor and there was no lift! 😓😓
It was quite far away from civilization actually and I think the name was rather apt.. Haha.. I’ll let the pictures tell you more..
Haha.. Felix, my BIL, even joked that it’s like a place where you could check in but would never be able to check out! 😱
Ok.. That’s all for today.. Stay tuned for part 2! 😁
