Bandung Nov 2014 Part 2

We woke up early today despite going to bed close to 2am last night.

We had some bread or cup noodles that we bought at the minimart last night.. Then we started our journey to Kawah Putih, a white volcanic crater lake that had been dormant since 1600..

Traffic was heavy and it was a long way so we were glad to stop for a break at a minimart..

image

Most of us took a nap in the van to catch up on our lost sleep the previous night.. Think the entire journey took about 3 hours!

When we finally reached the place, we prepared ourselves with mask to block off some of the sulphur smell..

image

It’s cool up here so we were glad to be prepared with cardigans and jackets… It’s not something we can see at home so it’s good to be there although it would have been better if we were to visit on a weekday when traffic would be less heavy.. The long journey would be unbearable for some.. We took some photos before we headed back to the ticket point for some refreshments..

It started to drizzle when we started to move off to our next destination, Situ Patenggang, a freshwater lake so we were glad to have booked a van..

image

Before we boarded the boat, we bought some fried tauhu and fried bananas that cost about 10¢ each! They were cheap and delicious, especially the tauhu!

The lake was not very spectacular and we went there based on the driver’s itinerary.. There was a famous Lover’s Stone but we were not really interested in it.. Hee..

image

After the long boat ride, we made our way to a local restaurant for our lunch and we reached there after 3pm! It started to rain again while we waited for our lunch..

The food was good!

After lunch, it was pouring as we made our way to Rumah Mode, a famous shopping area.. It was a long journey due to the heavy traffic so again, it would have been better if we were to come on a weekday.. We shopped till close to 10pm and even had dinner at a cafe there as it was rather late and we didn’t want to travel again to the restaurant recommended by the driver.. Think our bums couldn’t take anymore long rides to anywhere!

We called it a day after dinner and went back to the villa after a short stopover at a minimart.. It was indeed a very long day..

Bandung Nov 2014 Part 1

This trip materialised cos we couldn’t book the Bintan villa.. everything was decided very close to the date and the villa was booked just about 5 days before the trip.. and we confirmed the driver about 3 days before the trip!

We took a late flight cos some of us could not take leave.. we reached Bandung at about midnight and the driver was waiting for us with 2 mpv on standby.. His name is Kosim and his contact number is +62 813-2290-9345 if you are interested.. he’s a nice guy who even bought a local sim card for me at 50.000IDR.. however, he was only able to pick and send us to and fro the airport.. Guess he was overbooked but he also mentioned that his son was unwell and had to go for an operation.. My bro and sis thought it was just an excuse but I chose to give him the benefit of doubt..

Anyway, we reached our villa at about 1am.. It was huge with 5 bedrooms.. Just right for us since my bro always preferred to sleep in the living room with the company of the TV through the night.. Hee..

Here are some photos of the villa…

Kids getting comfy

As it was rather late, we decided to let the kids sleep right after we changed them into their pyjamas..

We took the biggest bedroom which had a sofa bed in addition to a king size bed..

That’s all for today.. Will update more about day two soon…

Impromptu sleepover

Went to watch Big Hero 6 with Denise and Becky..

The 3 kids enjoyed the show very much and had great fun running around Vivocity before and after the show.. After we had some desserts at Fruit Paradise, we made our way back home to pick the kids’ pyjamas before we set off to Audry’s place for dinner.. As we were reaching our block, Becky asked if she’s going to my place.. I then asked if she wanted to stay over that night.. She said yes so loudly without much consideration! Hee.. I guess she had fun during the previous sleepover. But she had to get permission from her dad first so we dropped them off at their place before we went for dinner.. My 2 kids were excited too!

So after dinner, the kids quickly took their shower so we could pick Becky earlier so they could have more time to play.. Hee..

Playing with blocks...

Hubby dug out some light sticks to entertain the kids.. And they pretended that they were camping..

image

They had so much fun that they refused to sleep! I went into the room many many times until I finally kept the light sticks and made them close their eyes at 11 plus..

We woke up early the next day as hubby and I had a facial and massage appointment and Becky had to visit her grand dad..

image

Fed them and showered them before we sent Becky home and dropped the kiddos at Emily’s place.. I’m sure the kids had great fun as they were already asking about the next sleepover! Hee..

School uniform

Bought a set of PE attire and school uniform for my dear son to try.. He was very excited and didn’t want to remove them.. Haha..

image

The size 22 pants seemed a little too long but the waist fit so I don’t think I’ll get a smaller pair lest it’s too tight around the waist.. The XS shirt seemed ok though.. Will just buy one more set of the school uniform since they wear their PE attire more frequently.

image

This is more fitting ya? Both are size S.. He looked so happy! Will get 3 more sets cos of PE and PAL..

P1 Orientation!

Finally, everything has been settled! My boy has finally gotten a place in my school! I got to know his class 2 days before the orientation day!

Took this right after we got his temporary name tag..

He then joined his class at the front of the hall..

There’s a pair of twins in his class..

image

My colleague’s girl is also in the same class! I’m hoping that he’ll get a strict teacher next year!

image

While the kids were brought to the foyer for some activities, we parents stayed in the hall for some briefing before we went to settle the administrative matters..

I ordered name tags after that and registered him for NASCANS, the student care within the school.. The response was overwhelming! Didn’t buy his uniform yet as the queue was super long.. I’ve already bought his books, except the Chinese books which were not ready yet..

After I’ve settled the stuff, we had lunch at Sakae Sushi before we went to my colleague’s place for a mahjong session.. Hee..

He managed to try on the PE attire that my colleague bought for his son..

image

My boy looked upset cos he didn’t get to wear the school uniform.. Haha.. So cute.. Hope I can get his uniform soon before the smaller size runs out!

The kids also had a swim in the pool at my colleague’s condo!

It’s going to get exciting in the weeks to come! We have to revamp their room in preparation of next year! Hopefully, it will be a more smooth sailing year ahead! Anyway, now that he’s in, I don’t have to worry for my gal in 2017!
